Project Description

The Malling School

“The Malling School was very proud to receive formal recognition as a ‘School of Character’ from the Association of Character Education.  The development of our students’ character is central to everything we do at The Malling School and we continually strive to ensure our students and staff are caring, determined and reflective.  As a school, we are totally committed to the overall quality of students’ education rather than simply focussing on exam outcomes.  Because of this, we will continue to develop our students’ character through the daily delivery of character education through ‘The Malling School Way’.  Our ambition is to be awarded the Kitemark+.”

“From the outset, it was clear to the assessors that the headteacher’s passion for character development linked with high quality pastoral care and ambitious goals for all students, regardless of ability and aptitude, was infectious. This enthusiasm had been cascaded throughout the staff team. It was apparent that students, governors and staff have a clear comprehension of “The Malling Way” and understood that these were a set of values and standards, which threaded through all aspects of school life. Pupil behaviour and attitudes were exemplary and had been shaped through the ethos of the school.”
