Kings Langley School

Reflections on the Quality Mark Plus Experience

“Kings Langley School, were extremely grateful to the assessor for taking us through what was a very positive, robust, and reflective experience. We have always aimed to have character development as a central pillar to our core ethos and culture and we were delighted the assessor saw how we had continued to develop our character programme even further. The Quality Mark Plus process has enabled us to celebrate our successes, whilst having thoughtful discussions about how we can continue to advance on our character journey. As an open school, we welcome any school to come and visit to share and discuss developing strong character education in schools.”

Assessor Feedback

“The Association for Character Education is aware that Kings Langley School was the first school to be awarded the Quality Mark Plus status in 2017. Consequently, it is particularly pleasing that the strong character programme in place at that time has evolved both in complexity and sophistication and it is clear that character development informs all aspects of the school’s provision and activity. It was striking that very young students were able to relate the concept of phronesis to all aspects of their daily lives and it is equally clear that the language of character developed within the school is transferred effectively to parents and the wider community.”
