Henley Bank High School

Reflections on the Quality Mark Plus Experience

Becoming a School of Character has been the most rewarding and uplifting experience. The whole day provided us with incredibly useful feedback on how we can continuously improve our character and was a thoroughly enjoyable celebration of our community’s work on character.

Henley Bank High School

Assessor Feedback

“A whole-school approach to developing character requires a programme that all members of the school community can understand and get behind. For this to be achieved it needs to be inspiring, have form & definition, and relate to the purpose of developing good character. Henley Bank’s innovative Legacy programme achieves all of this. Developing character and virtue in order to be the best version of yourself and lead a life that has an impactful legacy is a concept that motivates pupils and staff at the school. Implementing the same values-based badge programme for pupils and staff, in order to recognise virtuous behaviour, is a strong feature of the school’s Legacy character programme and demonstrates the school’s understanding of the importance of role modelling and character ‘caught.’ Assessors were extremely impressed with the significant transformational progress that the school had made over the past few years and how character and values had been placed at the heart of this.”
