Following the development of a virtual assessment process for the Schools of Character kitemark, ACE will now be accepting Kitemark applications from schools and colleges anywhere in the world.

A School of Character is defined by the staff and school leaders that set the vision and embed character across the whole school. Equally important to the flourishment of any school or college is the management of pupil behaviour through a character-based approach.
ACE recognises the crucial role that the charity sector plays in enabling the flourishment of children and young people through the development of character. In order to recognise this a Charity of Character kitemark pilot is currently being launched.
This year ACE is launching a character education training programme, with reduced rates for members. Following requests from members for support and training in how to manage behaviour and attitudes through character education, a bespoke training session on this topic will be held in the Spring.

Former Education Minister Damian Hinds, who previously stated that character is just as crucial to young people’s future success as academic qualifications, will be speaking at this year’s ACE annual conference along with other key speakers within the field of Character Education.
ACE have revamped the Kitemark for members so it can go further in assisting schools and colleges in enabling their pupils to flourish through character education. Changes have also been made so it can support schools to deliver on Ofsted’s 2019 requirements.
