ACE Scotland Conference 2023

The ACE Scotland Conference is a free event for teachers, leaders and character education practitioners across Scotland, bringing leading thinkers practitioners in character and values education. We are delighted to announce the second ACE Annual Scotland Conference will be taking place on Thursday 20 April 2023 and will be hosted by Auchmuty High School in Fife.

Join us to hear from experts and leaders of some of the UK’s leading Schools of Character. We will explore how you can achieve lasting and sustainable change by putting character and values at the heart of your school.

Confirmed Speakers

Chris Clyne is Principal of Northampton Academy, the first school to be awarded the School of Character Quality Mark in 2018 and one of the UK’s leading character-based schools. More recently Chris has led the school through the School of Character Quality Mark Plus, awarded due to the exceptionally high quality of values-based education at the Academy.  Chris is a proud Scotsman and one of just three UK Headteachers commended for their contributions towards Character by the world-leading Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham.

Ruth is the Headteacher of Balmalloch Primary School in Kilsyth, the first accredited School of Character in Scotland. Ruth has led Balmalloch in becoming Scotland’s first Regional Character Hub and is a Trustee of ACE.

Gary is a former Executive Headteacher and one of the UK’s leading experts in character education. He is a government advisor and Honorary Research Research Fellow at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues.

Pam Davie is the Headteacher of Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes, Fife and has led the school in the first stages of developing an ambitious values-led character education programme for all pupils.
